On September 29th, 2009 at 12:48AM Renee posted the following:

My mother has Alzheimers. She is in the new Acropolis Manor Facility, the facility is very nice, but it feels like a prison. It's not staffed adequately. There are only 2 staff employees to dress and feed everyone in the pod my mother resides in. I believe there are 18 residents in the North Pod. She can't eat by herself and often times her food ends up on the floor...she requires one on one assistance, which she was getting in the old Manor. They also have not scheduled any activities for the residents in the North Pod, so they don't even have anything to do....no stimulation whatsoever. Her medication was not properly reviewed and as a result has suffered for over 2 weeks being over medicated to a point were she could not stay awake or function properly. I have requested that she be weaned off the antipsycotic medication (Risperadone) that she was given but have yet to hear back from her doctor. I am totally disgusted with the lack of communication and feel that the period of adjustment which they said would occur after the move should be over by now. I will be voicing my concerns tomorrow at a meeting at Acropolis Manor, which by the way was only posted in an inconspicuous area in the lobby...no letters were mailed to family members about this meeting. My sister and I only found out about it by a staff employee that cared enough to tell us.
