Staff are extremely friendly. The facility is an older facility that requires updating.

Worst place I ever sent foot in. Smell of urine and fecies. this place has the worst care. Abuse and neglect. Please don't put you loved ones in this place. We got our family memeber out. This place is not fit for animals.

Staff were uncooperative when asked about care. Staff disregarded the patients belongings frequently knocking things on to the floor, stepped on and broke his denture, and did not report or take action until a complaint was made. Left him hanging in a sling, would not answer his calls, inadequate coverings, would not place the call button where he could reach it. He had ulcerations on his groin and penis from inadequate washing and changing of diaper, and after I bought and applied penatene cream, they started to catheterize him, which resulted in infection. The room was crowded and unclean, and he had only a small bedside table on which to put his belongings. We had to call bell in to get a phone line put in. This was a man who was very kind and always greatful for any help he recieved. When I complained, the responses where a shrug of the shoulders, or we are understaffed, or well he is 91. No one should have to endure this kind of humiliation. I tried so hard to get him out of there and bring him to Peterborough where the care is much better, but they delayed in doing the paperwork, saying "until the paperwork is done, he belongs to us”. He had COPD, and they had difficulty getting the oxygen right. He died at York Region Hospital the morning President Obama was inaugurated. The next day the morgue called David to ask when he was going to pick up the body. No one even told us he had died.
