My mothers primary care nurse has failed to communicate with me on several areas, of concern. I did speak to the director of nursing about my concerns once and communication did improve for a few months but now it is lacking once again. I find this very frustrating. When I do enquire about something that is of concern to me like oral hygene, for example I never see anything done. I do understand the staffing ratio to the residents but I really think more must be done to improve the quality of care that is given.

Only about 2 care givers (nurses or aides) are caring and compassionate and helpful. The rest turn their backs and let those in immediate need suffer relentlessly and for lengthy periods of time. The conditions are dirty, unsanitary, disgusting odours. It is expected of the families of beloved ones to come and take care of their relative every single day. Otherwise nothing will get done. These residents have paid taxes all their lives and now are treated worse than someone in prison. Shame on all of you. Shame on the extra burden suffered by families. No one wants to speak out because this is one cruel world which we all share. Silence isn't golden. Not any more!!
