I have a loved one who spent years there before passing. The hallways were often empty of staff and she used to say to me, "I'm not a dog you know..." as she felt she'd been placed in a kennel (and ignored). The set up is very lonely residents are often ignored and scream for hours on end. The head staff were negligent when it came to addressing medical needs and refused to move my loved one to hospital, instead waiting until she was almost dead (and the pastor had read last rites) before someone mentioned that my name was on the Advanced Directive, which they didn't seem willing to produce, and then finally moving her to hospital. I would never recommend this nursing home to anyone.

This hospital is one of the few in Victoria that truly values residents as individuals. Their privacy is respected and residents have their own room and bathroom which is much more dignified than sharing a room between 4 residents as is the case in many other facilities. They make decisions based on the needs of residents and are true to their values/mission. They have good programs including Art Club, Music Therapy, Pastoral Care, & outings. They have an excellent foundation which makes sure that the residents needs are met even when government funding is limited.
