I find there is a defensive culture at this nursing home. Generalized staff ratings can be awkward because some staff are clearly unhappy but some are caring.

I would be sure to monitor your loved one and their care very often and insist that the medical staff are on the same page as you. Do not think that you can leave your loved one there and simply trust that they are cared for in the best care setting ------ stay on board and be the advocator for them. All things count - little and big.

Much of the time it seems that the home is being run more on a " business " aspect then a " nursing/caring " home aspect. Many of the residents seem terribly discontent. Many of the staff ( Psw's ) seem to be very discontent - very long faced much of the time. I had such hope that my loved one would get the care, medical and otherwise that they required in a very good timely and proffessional fashion - however that seems to be not the case, much of the time. Huge lack of dis-repect to loved one's cargiver, in their views of things, medical or otherwise.
