My Mother was there for three months in 2011 before I moved her elsewhere.Some staff were kind and good but several on Via Roma (second floor) were sullen and unfriendly from day one. I was to learn that this was a longstanding, uncorrected problem here. My Mother's care was inconsistent and at times unsafe. After repeated attempts by the Director of Care and myself to correct this, without success, I called the Long Term Care Action Line. They investigated and found the home to be non-compliant with four of the requirements of the Long Term Care Act. And this is with my Mother alone, so imagine others whose relatives can not speak out. I met a number of other discouraged relatives of residents there. Front line staff (RPN,PSW) were rude to me in family meetings and the M.D. sat there without comment. Staff/cleint ratio is poor...one person cannot adequately take care of 10 or 11 people (staff told me this is how many people for whom they were caring.

Not enough staff. PSWs AND nurses. Too many casual or part-time, not enough consistency. Food is good. Some PSWs are just plain mean and they should get a different job. Most are nice.
