Bullying is constant towards new staff and between staff that have worked in the facility for several years, gossip is horrendous, fist fights have occurred after work in the parking lot. Carpets on the floor are not recommended by the dept. of health and more time is spent cleaning the carpets than is time spent by ot/pt in providing the physician ordered care of the residents which is a major calling card for new residents. The uneven floors due to the age of the building are a hazard to staff and residents. I had to fill out several incident reports due to resident falls caused by the rise and fall in the hallways yet the renovation was completed in the kitchen. The rooms on the south and west halls are small and over crammed with numerous residents having to share the common toilet in the hall. Not a home like atmosphere as things from home are not able to fit in the rooms and are not encouraged, nor are family pets allowed to visit residents as the owner is not willing to treat the carpeting for fleas. The holistic approach to care is abandoned. New staff do not remain with this facility and begin looking to work elsewhere some while still on orientation to the facility due to the interpersonal conflicts within the staff and the lack of care being provided. Safe, timely, and adequate care are not being provided and staff are not supportive of each other in the care of the residents. I do not recommend that anyone admit thier loved one to this home.

Staff try hard, but they aren't appreciated.

One must make allowences for the age of the building but the facility is warm and friendly and the staff considerate and approachable. Resident care and safety is always a priority. As a smaller facility, individualization of care is easier and morale among staff is high. I was surprised to read previous negative comments and am unable to relate them to this nursing home.

The Facility is great. Most of the Staff is wonderful. Since the Summer Students have returned to University. They will be working short as usual. But they do the very best under the circumstances.
